Expression Encouraging and praising others (Go for it, Kill it, You're gonna rock it, etc)

Hey, everyone. Welcome to this lesson on: Encouraging and praising others in English. We all have friends, family, people we know. One way to be a good friend, a good brother, a good sister, a good husband, wife, father, mother, anything you can think of when it comes to human relationships is to support, and encourage, and be positive with one another.

So, today, I'm going to give you some very quick and common phrases, sentences, imperatives you can use to help encourage the people in your life to show that you love them, support them, and to praise them for a job. Let's start with encouragement.

Encouragement

Go for it

So, first we have: "Go for it". So, "Go for it" means, like: "Try it! or "do it!". If your friend is on the "fence" which means, like, they're not sure if they want to do something or try something like to apply for a job, or take the IELTS test in two months, or something like that and you say: "You know what? You're really smart. Go for it. Try it."  So, you're encouraging them.

You can do it

Another way to encourage this person who has the IELTS in two months: "You can do it. I've seen your test results. I've seen how you speak English, and write in English, and how you listen. You can do it. Go for it. Just try".

You got this.

You can say to someone like: "This is not gonna be a problem for you; you will be able to achieve your goal. You can do it; you will be able to do it. You got this".

You're gonna rock it

This is a slang. You can say to someone to encourage them like: "You're gonna rock it". Another example you can say: "You will rock this test, you will rock this IELTS exam", or "you will rock this job interview". You just want to give a positive phrase to the person who's gonna go to a job interview or to do their IELTS exam, and you say: "You know what? I believe in you. You're gonna rock it. You're gonna smash it", even, is another one. There's a bonus one.

You're gonna kill it

For example you can say to someone: "This thing has no chance against you. This job interview, it's gonna be dead, because you're so amazing. You're gonna kill it".  So, after someone gets that job that they wanted; they get that IELTS encourage other people.

You would be perfect for that

Another way to encourage people like someone is looking at job advertisements on the internet, and they think: "That sounds pretty good." And they call you, and they tell you: "Yeah, I'm looking at this job, and I have to do X, Y, and Z". And you think (yourself motivation): "You know what? You would be perfect for that. You have those skills. You would be perfect for that job. Apply for it. Don't worry. Go for it. You can do it. You got this".

I hope you have learned some very useful, some common ways to help encourage the people in your life. There are a lot of things in the world that can make us feel down, and these are some ways that we can do to return some positivity to our lives, to the world, to the people who surround us. If we share the love, if we encourage others, we can lift up this world; lift up the people in our lives, and make this a better place for everybody.
